Hotel Renovation is the Hottest Trend!

Our long years in nautical chart mural creation has taken us in several directions. But this latest trend is here to stay.

What is now sweeping the nation is hotel renovation. In fact, we have been involved for a number of years helping hotels renovate the look of their hotels, restaurants, guest rooms, bathrooms, and bars.

We recently returned from California setting up three demonstration rooms in a coastal hotel. When we talked to the paperhangers and installers, we learned that the company they worked for had renovated 46 hotels over the past year! Think about that for a moment. That is almost one renovation for every week in a year!

What seems to be happening is in this time of recent prosperity, more people are vacationing, and more businesses are hosting conferences in hotels for their employees or leadership. Suddenly, hotels are competing for business again, and are taking steps to make their properties more attractive.

In light of this development, we have restructured our business to help hotels achieve their new looks. And what could be more attractive than a large mural in every room? As you can see, we do much more than nautical chart murals. What we do best are CUSTOM murals, designed with our clients. We have often said, if you can imagine the mural, we can make it happen. I’m hoping some of these examples may offer proof of that claim.

Are you a hotel owner needing some help with getting your imagination to come to life on your hotel walls? Well, you are indeed looking at the right company!

This is a fairly recent development for us, but as time goes on, don’t be surprised to see more work by hotels with our work displayed for their guests. We’ve shown a few here today.

More is coming.

"Skipper" Steve Morris has been sailing for more than 45 years. Whenever Skipper's sailor friends used to talk about their sailing adventures, it was not unusual for them to grab a chart, unroll it to a certain island or waterway, and tell a story of what happened during a particular voyage. As Skipper realized that nautical charts are used for navigating stories as well as passageways, the idea of nautical chart murals came naturally. What better place to tell a tale of the sea than in one's own home or office than with a beautiful nautical chart mural as the visual aid!

In 2013, he moved to the Coeur d'Alene area of Northern Idaho with his wife Linda. When Skipper is not working on murals, you can find him sailing his Erickson 27' on Lake Coeur d’Alene.

He continues to design custom-made wallpaper from nautical charts, satellite photos, topographical maps and favorite photos.
