Feeling "blue" yet happy!

Part of the fun of what we do is getting pictures from our clients. Why just the other day, I opened my email and read:

Steve,

Finally had the chart wallpaper hung yesterday. A great addition to our back hall entrance. Attached are photos.

Roxanne

New Bedford Harbor nautical chart wallpaper mural

What is fun about Roxanne’s picture of her mural is the blue on the wall and the chart. Notice how they match? I’m not sure if she waited until she got the mural from us before painting the area above the door or vice-versa, but that is as close of a match as you can get!

This brings me to a bit of advice if you are planning a mural for your home and wonder about painting the other walls. My advice is to wait until you get your mural, and then use the swatches from the paint store to match a color element in the mural such as the blue water, beige land, etc.

You can also get a cool color matching tool available at Sherwin-Williams Paint Stores called the ColorSnap. Placing the ColorSnap over a color you want will read out the color name and number of the S-W paint color on your smartphone. Cost of the ColorSnap tool: about $70.

Or, if you already have painted and want to order a mural that has the same color as your paint, just match the color with a swatch and let us know the color name and number and we will do the rest to match the color on your mural as we create it.

So let us help you make your mural as custom as you like!

It is what we love to do!

Just call or text us at 801-989-8083 for details or to let us know about your mural project.

"Skipper" Steve Morris has been sailing for more than 45 years. Whenever Skipper's sailor friends used to talk about their sailing adventures, it was not unusual for them to grab a chart, unroll it to a certain island or waterway, and tell a story of what happened during a particular voyage. As Skipper realized that nautical charts are used for navigating stories as well as passageways, the idea of nautical chart murals came naturally. What better place to tell a tale of the sea than in one's own home or office than with a beautiful nautical chart mural as the visual aid!

In 2013, he moved to the Coeur d'Alene area of Northern Idaho with his wife Linda. When Skipper is not working on murals, you can find him sailing his Erickson 27' on Lake Coeur d’Alene.

He continues to design custom-made wallpaper from nautical charts, satellite photos, topographical maps and favorite photos.
